Stonington Middle School
Grades 6 through 8

Certifications PreferredMathematics, 7–12 (029) or Mathematics, Middle School, 4–8 (229) AND English, 7–12 (015) or English, Middle School, 4–8 (215) or Remedial Reading and Remedial Language Arts, 1–12 (102)
OR
Elementary, 1–6 (305) or Middle Grades, 4–8 (006) AND Comprehensive Special Education, K–12(165)
The ideal candidate will possess the following qualities and skills:
Knowledge and experience using data to progress monitor, inform instruction, and develop tiered supports for students
Knowledge of reading and numeracy instruction
Understanding of Eureka Math2 preferred
Experience differentiating instruction, implementing small group instruction to accelerate learning while addressing areas of unfinished learning
Collaborative experience working with teachers, instructional/curriculum coaches, paraeducators, and building administrators
Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesProvides research-based math and ELA interventions for students in grades 6-8 in need of supplemental instruction
Maintains progress-monitoring data for students receiving interventions and communicates regularly with grade-level teachers, instructional coaches, families, and administrative staff regarding student growth and programmatic needs
Actively participates on the MTSS team and assists with the development of Rtl plans
Assists with preparing grade-level benchmark data and data analysis for school-based data team
Consults with classroom and related service teachers regarding reading and math strategies as needed
Plans and provides professional development activities for staff as requested by administration
Other duties as assigned by the building principal
