Innovation Product Manager at Team OCTO
The coveted Office of the CTO(OCTO) at PTC consists of the CTO's for Augmented and Virtual Reality, Internet of Things (IOT), Software Architecture, CAD and Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), as well as an innovation research lab and advanced development. The innovation product management function supports OCTO in helping PTC innovate with purpose including early customer validation, value assessment, thought leadership, evaluating product-market fit, GTM strategy etc.
The product manager role will help drive and support Product management in all the innovation projects managed by the OCTO. The role:

• Support in creating and executing innovation operation framework that helps validates product-market fit, identify top use cases, support technology assessment, initial product definition
• Show technology acumen to be able to understand all of PTC's core PLM and ALM technologies and work with the members of the OCTO to perform technology gap assessments and offering definition

What you'll do
You will support the innovation product management in the following:

• Deeply analyze and understand customer segments, user journeys, competition etc and support identification of top use cases
• Cross-functional management to support product innovation with business segments, support creation of messaging, thought leadership materials. customer facing materials, demos etc. with marketing, coordinate with corporate strategy, field etc
• Manage co-innovation customer program to validate the offering, determine customer value and willingness to pay
• Build presentation decks to maintain and manage communications with cross-functional teams and executives
• Work closely with segment product managers as the innovation cycle matures, to ensure tight alignment to the vision and to consolidate our market leadership.
• Prioritize and distill information: if provided with several different perspectives and data, you should be able to prioritize and identify clear and concise actions.
• Run customer programs and manage expectations by organizing weekly customer engagement calls and interfacing with field teams. Engage with multiple stakeholders internally and externally to validate customer proof of concept implementation. prioritize technology features, define and manage prototype requirement documentations, define and manage user stories etc.

What You Bring to PTC:

• MBA preferred, not required
• Excellent verbal, presentation, and written skills. This is a must for this role as you are regularly communicating with many different personas in each day.
• The ability to influence without authority: collaborate across organizational boundaries, connecting equally well with business and technical audiences.
• Confidence to challenge the status quo: if you believe something can be changed for the better, you do not hesitate to take initiative.
• Equivalent of 1-3 years of product management or direct experience building enterprise grade applications, gathering product requirements, and transforming them into an actionable product roadmap.
• A passion to understand customer needs and a strong motivation to solve their problems. You can take an idea, make a gameplan, and execute to accomplish complex goals.
• Be well-versed and comfortable in the product development cycle from discovery through to delivery

Preferred:

• Experience in Agile Development Methodologies
• Business analysis and process knowledge in the service execution domain
• Relevant industry experience within Medical Devices, Manufacturing, and/or Oil & Gas
• Must have strong organizational skills
• Highly proficient in presentation development with excellent written and communication abilities
• Must have the ability to take the abstract and piece it together
• Must be motivated with an "everything is possible" attitude
• Must be an active problem solver, instilled with a sense of urgency for projects large and small
• Curiosity for new technologies
• General knowledge of PTC's customers and products, most importantly enthusiasm to learn and interact with customers
• Interest and ability to travel to customer site if need arises
