This is an amazing opportunity for a Software Engineer to join a leading Energy Trading company, who have consistently been one of the biggest and most successful participants in multiple ISO's, with PJM & MISO being most prominent.

They are seeking a talented Analyst / Software Engineer who is passionate about building software to join the team. Technology gives them a real edge in business, and they'd like you to work on the next big thing. They are passionate about software, data, and analytics and are looking for help expanding their next-generation data infrastructure platform. The team collaborates closely with traders to build better processes that directly aid in trading decisions. This is a unique role on a small team where you'll have a lot of ownership and responsibilities over the solutions developed. An ideal candidate will be productive in a fast-paced environment and excited to collaborate every day to build well designed and reliable software.

In this role you'll be one of the users of the system and responsible for keeping tabs on their trading system. Using the insight you get from this you'll see how the platform can be extended and improved. They are looking for candidates who want a joint role encompassing both analytical work and full-stack developer work.

Responsibilities and duties:

• Work closely with our software engineers team to develop tools in Python, Java, React
• Exposure to deep technical problems, production trading systems, quantitative analysis, and how markets work
• Design, build and maintain highly available and resilient software that will be deployed in the data platform
• Develop analytics that bring simplicity and understanding to complicated market data
• Acquire and process large amounts of data using Python
• Design databases to import data that can later be processed using analytics
• Help improve our custom user interface helping traders dive into the data
• Full stack development from backend to user interfaces

Qualifications:

• Passion for developing software, learning technologies, and advanced software design principles
• Strong quantitative and problem solving skills
• Background in developing high-performance, multi-threaded applications.
• Programming experience in Java, Python, or React
• Knowledge about SQL, database design, and database servers
• Familiarity with Git workflow and basic Unix commands.
• Knowledge of statistics, applied math or analytical problem solving is a plus
