STORY COMPANIES LLC is Hiring a Security and Safety Manager Near Hyattsville, MD

  • Responsible for the overall safety and security of all employees and visitors within a multi-state regional area.
  • Travels to and conducts security and safety audits of company facilities within the designated region.
  • Provides direct management and guidance to Security and Safety Supervisors and staff.
  • Manages employee schedules, leave requests and timesheet approvals.
  • Audits and updates security and safety policies to ensure they reflect current operations and meet regulatory compliance requirements.
  • Ensures routine audits and inspections are completed according to schedule.
  • Manages initial investigations regarding safety incidents; violation of policy, compliance regulations or law.
  • Assigns work tasks through the Security service ticket system and dispatches contract security integrators in a timely manner.
  • Collaborates with intra-departmental peers on special projects and assignments designated by management.
  • Assist in developing and updating emergency response plans. Coordinate safety drills, evacuation procedures, and crisis communication. Liaise with local emergency services and law enforcement.
  • Ensures compliance with safety training requirements and manages safety training sessions for employees.
  • Collaborates with the Compliance Department to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Assists in the development of annual budget projections. Approves invoices and ensures expenditures are within approved budgets.
  • Must be over 21 years of age.
  • Can legally work in the United States - all documentation required.
  • Must have a valid State-Issued ID or U.S. Passport
  • Must have reliable transportation.
  • Must have no scheduling restrictions.
  • Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of all pre-employment background checks.
  • Extensive knowledge of security and safety protocols and procedures.
  • Excellent management and supervisory skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to provide training on security policies and procedures.
  • Ability to exercise discretion while working with confidential information.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, teleconferencing, and other data management software systems.
  • Clear understanding of the components and functionality of access control, camera, and alarm systems.
  • Ability to complete the OSHA 30-hour Safety Course within 60 days of hiring.

Physical Demands

  • Must have the ability to push, pull, or lift a minimum of 25 pounds.
  • Must be capable of sitting, squatting, standing, kneeling, bending, or walking for extended periods.

Education

  • Minimum High School Diploma or G.E.D equivalent required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience leading people and managing projects, timelines, and budgets.
  • Prior experience in a public or private security/safety role.
