Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Nursing Manager to join our Inpatient Rehabilitation Unit. The Nursing Supervisor will oversee the nursing staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care in accordance with established protocols and procedures.

Qualifications:

-Bachelors Degree in Nursing required

-Valid RN License in the State of Michigan

-Two to five years of clinical experience, including experience in nursing management preferred

Responsibilities:

• Maintains patient, employee and hospital confidentiality;
• Provide backup coverage for authorizations and admissions;
• Administers, directs and coordinates activities of patient care within assigned unit;
• Promotes and implements hospital safety by communicating safety-related information to all staff members; supports the implementation of patient safety huddle at the beginning of each shift;
• Evaluates the delivery of patient care to ensure it meets the facility standards;
• Plans and maintains staffing requirements based on patient needs including continuity and necessary level of care;
• Provides leadership and direction in accordance with organizational and departmental the goals and objectives;
• Informs the Director of Inpatient Nursing of unit activities and/or concern;
• Addresses questions and/or complaints brought forward by patients and/or families. Forwards unresolved complaints to Director of Inpatient Nursing;
• Development of job descriptions, orientation and competency requirements for the unit;
• Assists with annual performance evaluations for each staff member under his/her direction; completes a performance evaluation for newly hired staff within their probationary period (90 days);
• Assists with conducting unit staff meetings regularly and as needed;
• Provides assistance in the orientation to, and practice of, emergency procedures, fire drills evacuation procedures and internal/external disaster plans and procedures;
• Serves as a resource and mentor for all nursing staff, including: RNs, LPNs and NAs;
• Fill emergency staffing needs as needed;
• Enforce protocols and procedures and report any non-compliance to Director of Inpatient Nursing;
• Maintains department inventory and medical equipment;
• Available for call from staff, unless previously arranged with Director of Inpatient Nursing & Utilization;
• Maintain and monitor all Inpatient staff licenses and BLS/ACLS certifications;
• Assists in departmental compliance with Joint Commission, Medicare Conditions of Participation; State standards; and Federal standards;
• Demonstrates the ability to identify and solve problems; using initiative and sound judgment to reach decisions;
• Accepts and acts upon constructive criticism to upgrade abilities;
• Adjusts work schedule to meet hospital needs;
• Attends, as required, scheduled meetings and in-services;
• Contributes to the maintenance of a safe environment in the hospital for patients and others;
• Addresses physicians, visitors, patients and families in a positive and courteous manner;
• Provides a consistent effort to maintain a steady level of productivity;
• Performs other specified duties as assigned;

Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
