Description Stratolaunch is a technology accelerator that engineers operationally realistic testing at Mach 5 . Our air-launched, Talon testbeds are reusable, cost-effective platforms that enable routine access to the hypersonic environment. We deliver flight data critical to validating system performance and achieving rapid technology deployment. Together with our customers, we drive innovations that are imperative to advancing national security. To help achieve these efforts, Stratolaunch is seeking a level I, II, or Sr Avionics Instrumentation Engineer to support design, integration, testing, and maintenance of the Talon-A hypersonic vehicles avionics instrumentation systems. This position will include collaborating with other engineers and system owners. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop data acquisition & instrumentation systems on the Talon-A vehicles
Maintain and upgrade the current DAS and instrumentation systems on the Talon-A vehicles
Act as central contact for any DAS expansion/addition requests
Perform or oversee wire diagram generation/modification
Manage overall DAS & Instrumentation configuration
Support pre- and post-flight test activities
Support custom software used in the integrated system
Contribute to the integration of complex aerospace systems
Execute projects ranging from procurement, detail technician direction, aircraft configuration control
Test project as required, lead testing, evaluate data and hold closeout reviews
Prepare project for flight and brief status at Flight Readiness Reviews and other similar events
Train and act as Instrumentation lead in Mission Control Center
Regular and comprehensive communication to the Talon-A Avionics Lead
Travel, as needed, to support the department

Knowledge of, and experience with, one or more of these disciplines: electrical engineering, avionics, aircraft and/or hypersonic vehicle integration
Experience with data acquisition systems (DAS)
Experience with flight instrumentation
Experience in strain gauge & other sensor installation or selection
Excellent written and verbal communication
Ability to quickly adapt to changing priorities
Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
Aircraft and/or launch vehicle development experience
Experience with Network Engineering
Experience with hypersonic programs
Experience with Curtiss-Wright and/or Safran DAS
Hands-on aircraft build, piloting, and flight test experience
Security clearance
Required Computer Skills:
Experience in Matlab, Python, C/C , and/or XML
MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Preferred Computer Skills:
Siemens Capital/Mentor Graphics
Curtiss-Wright IADS
Familiarity with configuration management systems - Jira, Bitbucket, and Confluence
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
Level I ($65,000-$94,000): Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 0-2 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Level II ($81,000-$118,000): Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 2-5 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
Sr-Level ($102,000-$148,000): Bachelor's degree (B.S.) from accredited institution and 5-10 years of engineering experience, OR equivalent combination of education and experience
