Recommends and implements cost and quality improvements.
Identifies process problems and deviations through continual evaluation of yield,
quality, energy, and production data.
Utilizes technical knowledge, experience, and common sense in the modification of
existing processes and design of new processes.
Develops and prepares engineering and operational estimates for capital
improvements.
Prepares project scopes, schedules and coordinates work between in-house
resources and various contractors.
Prepares equipment specifications.
Prepares cost analyses and technical reports.

Incumbents must be proficient in personal computers and related databases. Computer skills required include knowledge of spreadsheets, database, and word processing software on PC based systems. Incumbents must possess excellent organizational and communication skills. Must have a well-developed understanding of a Lean Manufacturing Environment including 5S, PDCA, Standard Work, Kaizen, TPM, and other Continuous Improvement methodologies.
