PLC Controls Engineer

Global CPG company is looking for a PLC Controls Engineer to complete all phases of control system design and implementation within an appropriate scope of work, timeframe, and cost structure and will work under the supervision of the Controls Manager. The deliverables from this role include electrical engineering design and documentation, programming for logic controllers and visualization interfaces, and technical support for key customers.

This position is located in Rapid City, Iowa. Relocation assistance is provided.

The company is also offering a $10K sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities:

• For assigned product lines, maintain a fully documented and accurate electrical design and electrical controls programs that comply with established industry standards.
• Maintain a cost balance for the electrical design that achieves the lowest base cost with the highest manufacturing efficiency and lowest warranty. This balance should also account for the highest operational efficiency and lowest maintenance requirement.
• Produce electrical design/program changes to support sale orders, product improvements, change requests and non-conformances for assigned product lines.
• Provide timely, complete, and consistent technical support to internal and external business customers as required in support of assigned product lines.
• Support the Controls Team to increase output, standardization, and repeatability of designs and programs through developing and continuously improving engineering tools and work processes.

Requirements:

• Degreed Engineer (preferably electrical, will consider mechanical or chemical).
• 4 years of professional experience in Rockwell Allen-Bradley Controls Platforms.
• Design experience with Servo System is desired.
• Proficient with CAD. AutoCAD or SolidWorks is preferred.
• Ability to travel to other company locations ( /- 25%)
