What You Will Do
- Produce quality work to prescribed standards, focusing on continuous improvement.
- Follow written work instructions.
- Demonstrate good decision-making ability as a self-starter.
- Maintain a safe work environment by adhering to all safety procedures, including those governing the handling of materials, chemicals, tools, and equipment (WHMIS).
- Periodically assist in orienting and training new employees.
- Participate in LEAN Events, “Six S” activities, action teams, etc.
- Perform advanced-level assembly functions, including prep, mechanical, harness, cable, printed circuit board sub-assemblies, spray application, and inspection, typically working from models and/or drawings within Production.
- Perform soldering and installation of components to contract specifications using a wide range of tools and equipment.
- Interpret blueprints, Process Flow Instructions, and other written or verbal instructions.
- Work with Engineering to build 1st articles by interpreting print/specification with no process provided and the ability to interpret/assemble all units in the department.
- Perform all aspects of inspection if required: in-process, final, and source.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 5 years of mechanical experience.
- Proficiency in interpreting engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation.
- Experience with wiring and crimping to precise specifications.
- Must be a US citizen and meet security standards imposed by the Department of Defense, including the issuance of any necessary security clearance by the US government within a reasonable time after commencement of employment.
