You will be a key contributor in the Quality Assurance Department involved in developing and maintaining the company's Food Safety Plan. In addition, daily activities will include pre-operational inspections, on-line monitoring, sampling, microbial and analytical testing, along with interacting and educating production staff on Good Manufacturing Practices.

Shift: Monday to Friday 10pm-6:30am

Responsibilities:

• Approve or reject all raw materials, packaging materials, labeling and finished products
• Monitor the facility, personnel, and visitors for adherence to GMPs
• Perform Pre-Operational Inspections per the stated frequencies
• Perform monitoring and verification activities related to food safety and food quality. Activities to include, piece weight, piece size, water activity, product temperature, package declarations, etc.
• Ensure adherence to CCP
• Review all production records for accuracy and completeness before approving for distribution
• Ensure the latest revision of procedures are being used at all times
• Other duties as assigned by the QA Manger

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Food Science or related scientific discipline or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• Experience in a food manufacturing facility is preferred.
• Must be able to lift at least 35lbs occasionally.
• Ability to reach, pull, push, stoop and bend frequently
• Ability to stand for approximately 80% of 8 hour shift
• Must be able to problem solve, show a high attention to detail and be very self-motivated.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.
