Job SummaryThis leadership position is responsible for overseeing and managing the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, kitting and shipping products or material. Your key role will be to ensure that all activities are carried out efficiently and effectively, while maintaining a focus on safety and accuracy. As a Warehouse Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing a team of warehouse employees, ensuring that they are trained and equipped to perform their duties effectively. You will also be responsible for developing and implementing warehouse procedures and protocols to optimize workflow and minimize errors.
Essential Responsibilities
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the warehouse, ensuring timely and accurate processing of orders, inventory management, and fulfillment activities. Implement strategies to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Continuously assess and improve distribution processes, including receiving, order picking, packing and shipping to enhance operational effectiveness. Identify bottlenecks, impalements corrective actions, and optimize workflows to meet internal and external customer demands and reduce cost.
  • Supervise and provide guidance to a team of warehouse staff, including hiring, training, and performance management. Foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and motivate employees to achieve performance targets.
  • Utilize data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to analyze performance and identify areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports on productivity, accuracy and other relevant metrics for management review.
  • Provide Leadership, training, and coaching for all employees within the warehouse department
  • Holds daily stand up meeting with warehouse team. Sharing company information with personal as appropriate
  • Uphold productivity to standards, develop process improvements when standards are not being met.
  • Identify root cause of errors/late shipments as needed to meet quality of service standards.
  • Oversee the entire kitting/material handling process ensuring that materials and supplies are being transferred and kitted in a timely manner.
  • Ensures all incoming materials have proper documentation and meet our quality checks.
  • Monitor accuracy of outgoing shipments by auditing the shipping processes and performing duties when necessary.
  • Collaborate with other departments to optimize material delivery and material handling process.
  • Monitors inventory movement process by ensuring that inventory is being identified, labeled, and stored in the correct areas in accordance with our SOP.
  • Responsible to maintain a clean and organized warehouse and storage locations throughout the site.
  • Maintains inventory accuracy by assisting with daily cycle counts as needed.
  • Collaborate with the Inventory specialist on root cause analysis on inventory discrepancies, along with process improvements for better inventory accuracy.
  • Oversees SMG Truck schedule for all company needs

Knowledge, Skills Or Abilities (KSA’s)
  • Knowledge of computer programs such as Epicor, MS Outlook, and MS Office.
  • Skill in managing one’s own time and the time of others.
  • Skills in problem-solving, verbal and written communication, and computer aptitude.
  • Skill in completing assignments accurately and with the attention to detail
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet close deadlines
  • Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Ability to operate a forklift, pallet jack, stretch wrapper, cardboard compactor, hoists, and other material handling equipment.
  • Ability to give work direction to team members in a professional manner.
  • Exhibit individual initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and the ability to communicate with a diverse group of individuals.
  • Experience leading or mentoring preferred (performance feedback escalated to supervisor)
  • Knowledge of company policies and procedures.
Working Conditions
  • Prolonged periods of time spent standing, bending, lifting, reaching, twisting, and walking.
  • Close proximity to other team members, both inside and outside of the Shipping & Receiving department.
  • Exposure to potentially loud or distracting sounds and noise levels.
  • Required to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) consistent with safety standards of the position.
  • Frequent operation of material handling equipment (i.e. forklifts, pallet jacks, hoists, etc.)
  • Periodic lifting of up to 75 lbs.
