Looking for Part Time Produce Associates - Join a thriving cooperative grocery community and replenish and rotate produce displays and optimize the customer experience throughout the produce department.

FLSA Status: Non-exemptStarting Wage Scale: $14/hr and up commensurate with experience

Produce Associates are primarily responsible for presenting an appealing, clean, and fully stocked produce department to optimize the customer experience through their time shopping.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Customer Experience

• Exceed our customers' expectations for service and provide a welcoming environment for all people and all diverse backgrounds
• Model, provide, and ensure customers receive prompt, friendly, and courteaous services in a professional manner that demonstrates our cooperative advantage.
• Offer suggestions for purchases and ways to prepare products.

Produce

• Replenish and rotate displays, culling several times daily, following stocking priorites set by Produce Manager.
• Trim, wash, and bundle produce following priorities set by Produce Manager.
• Dispose of damages or spoiled goods promptly, properly maintaining shrink records.
• Unload porduce deliveries and check-in orders.
• Remove trash, clean cases, and keep prep and storage areas in clean orderly condition.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Have or be able to obtain, within 14 days of start date, a valid Food Handler's Certificate or Food Management Certificate.
• Language ability - comprehend complex instructions, correspondence, and memos.
• Communicate effectively and respecfully in oral or written from to staff and customers of diverse backgrounds.
• Regular, predictable attendance.
• Customer service skills - ability to manage difficult or emotional customer situations. Communicate responsibly.
• Respond promptly to requests for customer assistance.
• Quality of work - demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness. Apply feedback to imporve performance.
• Quality of work - work quickly and accurately wiht a sense of urgency.
• Preferred - experience in or knowledge of the natural food industry.
