Description
Under the direction of the Senior Program Director, the Dance Instructor will provide guided instruction in the areas of dance movement for youth participants. This position requires experience teaching and leading children, and the ability instruct classes that are age appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Instruct dance classes following the existing dance curriculum provided for each age group and level of dance.
• Be proficient at ballet, tap and jazz, other genres of dance are a plus.
  • Creates and fosters a positive class environment that is safe and fun for participants.
  • Ability to communicate with students in an educational and motivational manner.
  • Be able to interact and communicate effectively with parent(s).
  • Create and maintain organization in a classroom setting.
  • Maintain a roster of attendance and participant notes.

Requirements
Education/ Experience Required:

• High school Diploma or Equivalent
• Minimum of one (1) year experience teaching dance to children.
• A minimum of (1) year experience working with children.
• Excellent communication skills
• Hip Hop style preferred.

Certifications/Trainings Required:

• Must obtain within 30 days of employment and maintain current certifications in CPR, First Aid, AED
• Maintain other required certifications as stated in the training matrix.
