Keystone Powdered Metal Company in St. Marys, a world leader in manufacturing powdered metal parts, has an immediate opening for a Manager of Safety, Health, Security and Environmental. Since 1927 Keystone has pioneered many advancements in technology and products in the PM industry. Today Keystone is part of Sumitomo Electric’s Industrial Materials segment which has thirteen P/M companies located in nine different countries around the world. Keystone operates plants in St. Marys and Lewis Run, Pennsylvania and Cherryville, North Carolina. This position is responsible for workers compensation, risk management, safety, health, security and environmental matters. The individual must display strong leadership skills to promote an interdependent safety work culture. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
Develop and implement comprehensive EHS programs and policies in alignment with regulatory requirements and industry best practices
Monitor and ensure compliance with all relevant EHS regulations, standards, and guidelines
Conduct regular audits, inspections, and risk assessments to identify hazards and ensure corrective actions are implemented
Lead incident investigations and root cause analyses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence
Provide EHS training and education to employees at all levels to promote a culture of safety and environmental awareness
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate EHS considerations into business operations and decision-making processes
Prepare and submit required EHS reports to regulatory agencies
Stay current with EHS trends, regulations, and emerging issues to ensure the company remains at the forefront of EHS excellence
Manage emergency response plans and coordinate drills and exercises to ensure preparedness
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance EHS performance and sustainability efforts
The ideal candidate should possess the following skills -
Bachelor’s Degree in Safety/Environmental Sciences
Minimum of five years of experience within a manufacturing environment
In-depth knowledge of federal, state, and local EHS regulations and standards.
Excellent organization skills
Good verbal, written and presentation skills to communicate effectively with employees and insurance providers
Strong project management and leadership skills
Proficient in use of Microsoft Office Excel and PowerPoint
