Summerland Winery’s tasting room is located in the quaint seaside town of Summerland, California, the gateway to California’s riviera. We offer guests a serene space to sit back, relax, and enjoy the ocean breeze while exploring Summerland’s award-winning collections of Central Coast wines. Outfitted with tasteful beach-inspired décor, a charming front porch, and a welcoming team of wine ambassadors we aim to please guests from all walks of wine life. We are currently looking for an amazing Assistant Tasting Room Manager to join our team here in the tasting room. Please review the qualifications below and we hope to hear from you!

Hospitality and Admin Responsibilities:

-- Take amazing care of our tasting room guests, providing exceptional customer service all
along their Summerland Winery journey.
-- Engage and educate guests with knowledge of the wines produced by Summerland
Winery and the AVA’s we source from.
-- Be a strong front of house leader and perform essential floor management duties to
ensure our team’s success.
-- Strongly promote our wine club and sign-up new members while taking excellent care
of our existing members.
-- Be a leader in our sales endeavors, doing our best to get the finest fermented grape
juice to our customers.
-- Keep a constant eye on cleanliness and the overall presentation of the tasting room.
-- Open, close and supervise the tasting room as needed in the absence of the Tasting
Room Manager or the General Manager.

-- Assist with events whether for wine club or for general public at the tasting room and
also remotely.
-- Work with the Tasting Room and General Manager’s on other admin responsibilities and
tasting room operational needs.

Job Requirements:

- 2 years previous experience in wine industry hospitality.

- 1 years previous experience in wine industry FOH management.
- Proven ability to work well in a small team environment.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Friendly and professional demeanor. A solid sense of humor is a big bonus. We like to
have fun around here!

things wine, food, Summerland and Santa Barbara!
- A natural born talent for connecting with your team members and our guests.
- Ability to be flexible and adapt to an ever-changing environment. If you’ve been in the world of wine for 2 years, then this is probably a given.
- A basic proficiency in WineDirect, Tock and Microsoft office is preferred.

Job Type:

Full time – 32 hours a week (4 to 5 days a week)

Regular schedule: Thursday through Sunday. Weekends are mandatory.

Salary for this role: $25/hr 1% commissions on all retail wine sales Wine Club membership sale commissions and tips.

- $500 signing bonus – paid after completion of 6 months of work with the tasting room, pending performance evaluation.

Pay: $24.00 - $25.00 per hour
