Summit Healthcare Association is Hiring an EKG Tech - PRN Near Show Low, AZ

Essential Functions/ Major Responsibilities:

  • Answering phone calls
  • Retrieving data
  • Ability to navigate paragon/epiphany
  • Faxing copies of diagnostic studies to physicians
  • Scan and save test results
  • File Reports
  • Take documents to Doctors mailboxes
  • Stock and order supplies
  • Help maintain/train on oxygen storage.
  • Obtain and distribute all EKG’s to/from appropriate locations
  • Performs additional duties as requested.
  • Displays proper etiquette and mannerisms that reflect the SHINE Behavior Standards.
  • Promotes the Patient Safety Standards as a core value of the organization.

EKG Tech Level 1

General Position Summary:

The EKG Technician will perform basic cardiac diagnostic procedures on inpatients as well as outpatients of all ages.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

All Responsibilities of the Cardiopulmonary Assistant plus:

  • Taken a qualified EKG class
  • Perform EKGs on all age Groups per policy
  • Able to set up Holter Monitors per policy
  • Able to set up Cardiac event monitor per policy

EKG/END Tech Level 2

General Position Summary:

The EKG Technician will perform additional cardiac diagnostic procedures and select neurodiagnostic procedures on inpatients as well as outpatients of all ages.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

All Responsibilities of a Cardiopulmonary Assistant and EKG Tech Level 1 plus:

  • Accurately Scan Holter Monitor recording
  • Perform quality Cardiac Stress Test per policy
  • Ability to perform EEG per policy
  • Assumes responsibility for designated areas or procedures. Teaches and directs the work of other staff and students as required.
  • Able to correct any billing mistakes. Add or remove charges as needed.
  • Download, Process and get holters ready for the Cardiologist to read them.

Advanced EKG/END Tech

General Position Summary:

The EKG Technician will perform advanced cardiac diagnostic and select neurodiagnostic procedures on inpatients as well as outpatients of all ages.

Essential Functions / Major Responsibilities:

All Responsibilities of a Cardiopulmonary Assistant and EKG Tech Level 1, EKG Tech level 2 plus:

  • Obtain CCT certification (Ekgs, holter monitors, stress testing) or
  • NCV certification or
  • EEG Certification

Interpersonal Contacts

  • Contain some discussion about confidential / sensitive matters
  • Include contact with hospital staff, patients, and doctors

Specific Job Skills & Mental Activities:

This position requires operational knowledge of office equipment in the Cardiopulmonary department as well as department specific equipment including EKG machine, Holter Monitors, Cardiac Event Monitors, Stress Testing equipment, EEG equipment, NCV equipment, scanner, fax machine, printer, phone system, computer, and commonly used hospital computer programs. Must read, write, and speak English. Must also be service oriented and have excellent computer skills, problem solving skills, customer service skills, organizational skills, multi-tasking skills, professional interpersonal skills, time management skills, telephone etiquette, and have the ability to prioritize work.

90 Day Competency Level:

  • Demonstrates competence of all Tech Level 1 Essential Functions noted below within 90 days of initiating training.

120 Day Competency Level:

  • Demonstrates competence of all Tech Level 2 Essential Functions noted below within 120 days of initiating training.

180 Day Competency Level:

  • Demonstrates competence in performing the following additional functions within 180 days of initiating training:

a. Transferring scored sleep studies into the reading file on the V drive

b. Performing compliance follow up calls to sleep study patients.

c. Contacting Home Medical Equipment vendors with sleep study CPAP & BIPAP related issues.

Education and/or Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
  • Basic Computer Skills (required)
  • CPR/BLS Certification (required within 30 days of hire)*
  • ACLS Certification (required within 60 days of hire)*
  • 1 year related experience (preferred)
  • Cannot be released from orientation until completed

Physical Demands & Job Conditions:

Light:

Exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and negligible amounts of force constantly to move objects. Physical demands are in excess of those of sedentary work. Light work usually requires walking or standing to a significant degree. The worker is exposed to extensive computer work. This is a safety sensitive position.
