Summit Management Services, Inc. (SMSI) is seeking an energetic and experienced apartment or facilities maintenance technician in the Warren, OH area; someone who thinks of maintenance as a career, and not just a job. This position may have the opportunity to live onsite at the apartment community rent-free.

Responsibilities:

• Performing general property maintenance and repairs which may include Plumbing, Carpentry, HVAC, Electrical, Appliances and others.
• Completes assigned work order requests promptly and professionally.
• Provides excellent customer service to prospective and current tenants and promotes a quality living experience for all residents.
• Provides on-call/after-hour service when scheduled and performs emergency maintenance work when required.
• Maintains property grounds by maintaining water systems, recreational and other equipment; keeps the walkways on the property free of snow, ice and other hazards.
• Participate in Company-provided training and comply with all Company Policies, any applicable rules and regulations, as well as applicable local, state, and federal laws.
• Other work duties, as may be assigned by property manager.

Requirements:

• A minimum of one to two years of maintenance and repair experience and/or training.
• Pass a pre-employment background check and a pre-employment drug screening; a valid driver's license is required.
• Be available for occasional overtime duty/shared on-call responsibilities.
• HVAC certification is a plus but not required.
• Possesses good written and verbal communication skills
• Can be a good team player and work well with minimal supervision.
• Able to maintain high standards in all aspects of building maintenance, tenant satisfaction and resident retention.
