SummaryAs an Accounts Receivable Clerk at SFG, you will be crucial in ensuring accurate and timely receivables processing. You will manage customer accounts, process invoices, and reconcile payments, among other duties. This role is responsible for performing a variety of accounts receivable tasks that utilize various systems and tools to post deposits, prepare billings, and distribute to customers accurately and effectively. To succeed in this role, you will ensure that your processes are performed promptly, efficiently, and accurately.

Position Summary:The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for managing and balancing credit card logs, cash, and checks, processing deposits, handling credit applications, and managing collections across multiple lines of business. This role requires meticulous attention to detail, strong communication skills, and proficiency in credit collection practices. The specialist will work closely with various departments to ensure accurate and efficient processing of financial transactions and documentation.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Support a culture that promotes safety as a top priority while ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and company regulatory policies and procedures.
  • Deposit customer's checks accurately and timely.
  • Process releases, waivers, and final payment documents.
  • Assist with credit rebills concerning pricing and tax discrepancies across all lines of business.
  • Conduct thorough audits of account transactions, promptly addressing discrepancies such as short pays and back charges.
  • Manage Perry Invoices under specified instructions, facilitating submission for payment post procurement of purchase orders.
  • Assist as needed with documents for lien filings and bond claim filings across all lines of business.
  • Process and approve credit applications for all lines of business.
  • Assist with trade reference and bank verification requests.
  • Conduct collections for all lines of business, including recent and future acquisitions.
  • Assist with notices of non-payment to meet deadlines for all lines of business.
  • Balance COD credit card logs, cash, and checks for Stabilized (GSS) & Slurry plants.
  • Reconciliation of Accounts Receivable (AR).
  • Collaborate with SFG to facilitate payment remittance and posting.
  • Prepare comprehensive notes for monthly credit meetings, as necessary.
  • Review new job information sheets and tax certificates.
  • Maintain close collaboration with sales and dispatch teams to stay informed of account standings.
  • Update and maintain accurate customer records within the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent. Associate degree preferred.
  • Moderate proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficiency in credit collection practices.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in documentation and processing.
  • Ability to handle sensitive financial information with integrity.
