Overview
The Sales Representative for Altaview Concrete will be responsible for account management, project bidding, and general promotion of the company and its products. This position will represent the company as a member of industry associations and organizations, actively participate in industry trade shows, and conduct product presentations to customers, owners, and specifiers.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities
  • Bids all residential and commercial work in assigned geographic territory with a timely follow-up system that will identify work received from work lost and why.
  • Manage all customer accounts assigned.
  • Respond to all concrete complaints in a timely fashion, reaching a conclusion.
  • May be called upon to collect monies owed to the Company.
  • May be required to collect monies from outstanding debts due to the Company.
  • Solve customer problems and complaints in a timely manner.
  • All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications/RequirementsTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.   • Must be goal-oriented, self-motivated, and organized.
  • Have extensive knowledge of the concrete industry and related materials.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers.
  • Ability to address concrete problems both in the plastic and hardened state.
  • Will be required to perform field testing as needed on plastic concrete (i.e., slump, air, cast cylinders, etc.).
  • Must cold call or make direct contact in pursuit of new customers.
EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Language Skills
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Mathematical Skills
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
REASONING ABILITY
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with various concrete variables in situations with limited standardization.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
  • Must have a valid driver's license.
  • Must be ACI Field I Certified.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • Minimum 50 hours per week.
  • Occasional early morning starting times as well as late night ending times.
  • Occasional lifting (up to 100 lbs.) and climbing involved at jobsite.

  • This position will work indoors and outdoors.
  • Winter driving will be a requirement during those months.
  • This position may be required to visit job sites to assist customers or customer complaints, which may result in exposure to cement, lime, concrete admixtures, dust and other substances which may cause burns or be toxic.
  • There are physical hazards in which there could be danger to life, health, or bodily injury such as proximity to moving, mechanical parts, falls, environmental conditions, moving equipment, and other hazards when at jobsites or at plant locations.
  • When applicable, safety gear, such as a hard hat, safety glasses, and high-visibility safety vest, will be required.
