Current hiring rate: $20.00/hour (non-exempt, hourly role)

Position Summary:

As a member of the repair shop team you will be responsible for maintaining rental fleet equipment and provide repair and maintenance services to guests bikes. Must possess modern knowledge of bike repair & service techniques. Understand how full suspension mountain bike technology has evolved. Experience in bike service, tools, componentry, equipment, and knowledge is required. Knowledge of Mt Bachelor trail system is preferred. Provide direction and assistance on the floor to rental techs and guests as needed. As a bike repair tech you will be a key holder and responsible for opening, closing, and running daily point of sale functions as needed. You will also be required to have a general knowledge of safety procedures and PPE use when working around power tools, air tools, chemicals, and hand tools. You will be responsible to help with part and supply ordering monthly. This is an inside job that requires extended periods of standing, bending, pushing and reaching. You must possess exemplary guest service skills, be able to provide instruction on proper equipment use and present accurate maintenance and repair recommendations. Strong guest service skills, communication skills, leadership, an eye for detail, and the ability to work as a team are critical!

Essential Functions/Major Responsibilities:

* Provide technical expertise to guests, employees, and key mountain departments.

* Follow through with mountain bike maintenance on rental fleet and guest repair services.

* Lead and direct team when manager and supervisor are unavailable.

* Correctly and safely set up mountain bikes for guests and train other staff on this as needed.

* Explain to guests the functions of the bike and the best terrain to ride for their skill level.

* Perform the daily opening and closing procedures including the daily point of sale needs, opening and closing the rental shop, tool maintenance and cleaning, security, safety, and signage.

* Open and close the shop as an active key holder as needed.

* Operating a cash register with great accuracy.

* Inspect, repair, tune, adjust, and/or dispatch bicycles, gear, and accessories.

* Complete guests profiles while following shop and manufacturers' policies and procedures.

* Perform daily equipment maintenance, shop cleaning, upkeep and maintenance, inventory, data entry, and special projects including locating lost/missing equipment.

* Participate in applicable training programs and attend department meetings.

* Provide information about the resort, retail, rental and repair shop, and equipment, products and services available.

* Ensure that all steps are taken to promote safety of the guest by properly completing and handling point of sale rental process and equipment.

* Intake of guest equipment; evaluating, recommending, documenting, and preparing equipment for services.

* Ensure guest bikes are processed correctly during returns and help train co-workers.

* Follow proper release of liability procedures.

* Perform regular fleet inspection and necessary fleet maintenance services.

* Current knowledge of bike brands and componentry related to downhill mountain biking.

* Prior professional experience in complete overhaul of a downhill and enduro mountain bike.

* Suspension repair and installation, servicing of most major brands of front and rear shocks.

* Help with warranty service, including communications, required paperwork, shipping and receiving of warranty parts.

* Help with parts ordering, determine proper fit and use, communicating with supplier to determine part solutions for all repairs, calculate retail and labor charges, use of ordering system.

* Inventory of service supplies and parts, work closely with retail in parts selection.

* Assist in training for product knowledge, parts knowledge, and standard operation procedures for all repair and rental operations surrounding bikes.

* Possess leadership skills for service and rental area.

* Work as a team player in all aspects of bike business at Mt. Bachelor.

* Maintain a clean and organized work environment.

* Possess excellent guest service and communication skills.

Secondary Function:

Provide sales assistance to Retail and Gateway Sales Center when needed. The position may also require product testing of the rental bike fleet. This may involve riding a bike in the area immediately outside of the repair shop. Riding the lift accessed downhill bike trails is not a function of this position.
