The opportunity:

As a Case Associate, you will be a member of the Group Benefits Claims Shared Services team working on short term disability claims, with a specific focus on claim setup. This position will primarily be a production role, requiring the ability to regularly manage a high volume of tasks, adjust priorities when based on the impact to our clients and effectively manage time.

How you will contribute:

• Review of new STD documents

• Sets up new STD claims in Ultera and CHESS claim systems.

• Assignment of Eligibility Tasks to the appropriate claims examiner based on pre-determined criteria

• Ability to identify complex diagnoses and to label these claims accordingly

• Monitors and reports on new claim inventory levels

• Able to meet production goals on a consistent basis

• Ability to maintain a high level of accuracy and identify errors for correction

• Effectively communicate the claim status or request information from employees, employers, or doctors, and can accurately address any questions or concerns with confidence

• Responds to all e-mail and phone inquiries within 24 hours

• Responds to correction emails within required turnaround time

• Establishes excellent relationship with claim organization

• Assist in special project work or other duties as defined by the needs of the business

• Maintains high levels of customer service with internal and external customers

• Willingness to cross-train on all Front-End operations responsibilities

• Critical thinking skills, high degree of accuracy, quality work products, ability to multi-task and maintain a high production pace and focus.

• Working knowledge of the company claim processing procedures and systems applications.

• Written and verbal communication skills to communicate with various departments.

What you will bring with you:

• Ability to work with a diverse group of people

• BS/BA degree preferred or equivalent work experience

• Proficient with Lotus Notes, Windows and Microsoft application (MS Excel, MS Word, MS Power Point)

• Ability to work and solve problems independently

• Strong working knowledge of systems applications, and be comfortable using computers

• Results oriented, be able learn quickly and make sound decisions after appropriate training

• Ability to work independently or part of a team

• Time management

• Southern California region: $51,100 - $69,000 annually

• Central California region: $53,800 - $72,600 annually

• Northern California region: $57,500 - $77,600 annually

If you are a Minnesota, Colorado or Nevada resident, the salary range for this position is $48,700 - $65,700 annually.

If you are a Connecticut or Maryland resident, the salary range for this position is $51,100 - $69,000 annually

If you are Washington or Rhode Island resident, the salary range for this position is $53,800 - $72,600 annually

If you are a New York resident, the salary range for this position is $57,500 - $77,600 annually
