EDUCATION And/or EXPERIENCEMinimum Associate’s degree and completion of district provided substitute training.
Communication And Language SkillsAbility to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of students, peers, administrators, parents, and the general public.
Mathematical SkillsAbility to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
Analytical And Reasoning AbilityAbility to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
Other Skills And AbilitiesAbility to apply knowledge of current research and theory to instructional program; ability to plan and implement lessons based on building and district goals and the needs and abilities of students to whom assigned. Ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with students, peers, parents, administrators, and community. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely. Ability to use technology to accomplish job responsibilities that may include basic knowledge of e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheet software.
TemperamentsAbility to direct others, includes all perspectives, be flexible in mindset, and provide a positive environment for students and staff.
PHYSICAL ATTRIBUTES: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. The employee is directly responsible for safety, well-being, or work output of other people. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
Certificates, LicensesMust possess and maintain or be eligible for a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction license to teach.
Physical RequirementsShall complete a physical examination as required by Wisconsin Statute 118.25.?
- School Based Substitutes $241/day (student/school days)
- Single Health Insurance (HMO) offered: (Employee can buy up to or pay the difference in premium if family insurance is desired)
- HMO Single Cost to employee is $73.13 per month
- Access to our Employee Wellness Clinic:
- Low or no cost/co-pay visits for employee and their family even if family is not on district health insurance
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Teaches content and skills in subject area by following lesson plans as provided by the absent Professional Educator
- Establishes and maintains standards of student behavior needed to provide an orderly, productive classroom environment.
- Understands student needs based on lesson plans and cooperates with other professional staff members in ensuring students are being cared for throughout the school day.
- Supervises students in assigned out-of-classroom activities during the working day.
- Participates in faculty meetings and other student activities when asked within their typical work day.
- Models nondiscriminatory and inclusionary practices in all activities.
- Creates a classroom that is conducive to learning and appropriate to the maturity and interests of students.
- Maintains established routine of the school and classroom procedures in which assigned.
- Maintains a professional appearance as an example to students. Meets and instructs assigned classes in the locations and times designated.
