Residential Solar Operations Manager

We are looking for a strong leader, both of people and processes who is well versed in the intricacies of the solar industry.

THE ROLE:

If you have experience in residential solar then you know this role is a good challenge. You must thrive as a problem solver in a fast-paced environment. This role not only directs and develops the team who project manages and designs for our residential solar customers, but also works as a liaison with internal and external entities to ensure our Customer Experience is top notch.

Speaking of our ops team, we are quite proud of them, they are knowledgeable and sharp. Therefore, they want to see a collaborative leadership style. They want someone who can jump in and help with their workload, assist in removing roadblocks and take the lead in upgrading processes that might be inefficient. They may also need your help with customers requiring extra care. They want a coach who will develop them and grow their knowledge in an honest, constructive, and trust-based environment. Dictators need not apply.

GROWTH POTENTIAL:

If you excel at building bridges through relationships, then there is also room for growth. From a strategic perspective, our ultimate objective is to take our Residential Division beyond our current 4 MW installation capacity and $12 MM in revenue. If you are familiar with the current market, then you know this is no easy feat. Energy storage is our expertise and we have been the leaders in converting this technology to a viable and money-saving solution for our AZ and FL customers. We believe this is the future of solar.

TOOLS and SUPPORT:

Our Resi team is one of 4 divisions within our company. This diversification is strategic, allowing market fluctuations within 1 division to be minimized by shifting resources to another. It means we have in-house accounting, HR, IT, purchasing, warehousing, fleet, safety, design, installation, and a senior leadership team to rely on for support. It also means you must want to join us with an open mind, eager to learn how we do things first as our departments are extremely interrelated and well established.

Another aspect we are proud of is our CRM software. It was custom built and is maintained in-house by our IT team. This role would work closely with them designing system updates to ensure streamlined software to support the operational changes needed in our ever-changing market.

If you don’t like diving into the weeds and understanding all the job roles who report to you, such as project management, customer service, design, permitting and scheduling then please do not apply. Expertise in everything is not required but your team will expect you to understand their roles and responsibilities and help them navigate the challenges they face as they deliver excellence for our customers.

Earning the respect of both our field and operations teams will also be mission critical to your success and effective communication and listening are the keystones for this. If you are the type who likes to come in quickly and make big changes, we are not looking for an operations overhaul.

THE DETAILS:

This role will work out of our Chandler, Arizona office M-F and report to our COO. We offer a full health benefits package including a 401k with company match. Relocation assistance will also be considered for the right candidate, but we prefer applicants to have some familiarity with the AZ solar market.

Drug tests (excluding marijuana), MVD and background checks plus skills tests will be performed on all final candidates.
