We are seeking a Teacher to prepare lesson plans and educate students at all levels. The teacher must be able to instruct a variety of subjects and reach students with engaging lesson plans. Make a difference in someone's life by joining SunArch Academy a new behavioral health hospital.

Teacher Responsibilities:

• Provides a therapeutic milieu to an assigned psychiatric patient population.
• Workday is spent observing, encouraging and recording the patient's involvement in activities of daily living, individualized gains towards prescribed interventions and psychosocial interactions.
• Highly vigilant in supervision, education of patients, whereabouts and minimizing risks of all patients.
• Continuously serves as a professional role model, the Teacher understands the program's terms, values and structure in support of the recovery goals. Uses strong verbal and written communication to inform the treatment team of both "need-to-know" and "nice-to-know information.
• Due to the high visibility and significant patient interaction, this position is frequently the first responder to a variety of patient situations i.e. codes, behavioral outburst, attempts to introduce contraband and medical issue.
• The Teacher adjusts therapeutic approach to acuity, age, gender and cultural considerations.

Teacher Qualifications:

• Teaching license (preferred) or experience as a Substitute Teacher.
• Experience in a psychiatric hospital or residential treatment center preferred.

Additional Requirements:

Timely renewal of cardiopulmonary resuscitation for healthcare professional’s certification, annual professional skills verification, and CPI certification. Classes are provided by SunArch Academy.
