Sunbelt Healthcare is Hiring a Medical Assistant (Part-time) Near Tucson, AZ
Description
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Will assist clients of our Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) by providing information, services, and assistance through various means.
- Including but not limited to securing medical records, maintaining medical supplies / inventory, and performing preventative maintenance to keep equipment operating.
- Verify patient information, record medical history, scheduling appointments, reporting patient history, reason for visit, and capturing vitals (including blood pressure, height, weight, temperature).
- Explain procedures to patients, prepare patients for examination, and assist during examination as needed.
- Administrative duties may include answering multi-line telephone, greeting patients, updating files and forms, medical record keeping, insurance verification, handling correspondence between patient and providers, and other misc. front office / admin responsibilities.
- Additional responsibilities as delegated.
- Note: This is a part-time position with the opportunity to grow into a full-time role at a later date as needed.

Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- Completion of accredited Arizona Medical Assistant Coursework- Required
- Valid Medical Assistant Certification in the state of Arizona - Required
- GED or High School equivalent – Required
- 21 years of age or older – Required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Software especially 365 platform
- Experience with electronic health records (EHR), Advanced MD (a plus)
- Strong organizational skills and communication skills
