SKILLS :

  • Analytical skills to identify and resolve problems.

INTERPERSONAL :

  • Good interpersonal skills to maintain effective rapport with patients, dentists, other staff members and community
  • Effective verbal skills to communicate with patients

DUTIES : Patient Management

Patient Management

  • Greet new patients
  • Manage multiple phone lines
  • Scheduling appointments
  • Present Dental and Orthodontic treatment plans to patients
  • Arrange payment plans with patients
  • Preparing patient route slips
  • Managing recall and outstanding unscheduled treatment list
  • Auditing Patient Ledgers
  • Determining patient co-pays
  • Set up consultation room for consult appointments
  • Call patients post-op
  • Review health histories

Insurance

  • Processing EOBs
  • Submitting and Processing Pre-authorizations
  • Tracing outstanding insurance claims

Administrative

  • Securely store and handle patient records in compliance with legal requirements, including HIPAA privacy and security regulations
  • Maintain a professional reception area / office (organize patient education materials, straighten up the facility, report any larger maintenance issues to management for follow-up).
  • Arrange referral appointments and manage communications with specialty offices

Office Participation

  • Be an active participant in team meetings
  • Perform other tasks as assigned by the practice
  • Minimum 1 year dental experience* Familiarity with pediatric and orthodontic dentistry is preferred.*
  • Experience working with Dentrix software is a plus!*
