Job Details
DescriptionSunseeker Resort Charlotte Harbor is currently searching for a Senior IT Technician! The Senior IT Technician is responsible for overseeing the technology infrastructure and systems used in day-to-day hospitality operations of the resort, including but not limited hotel management software, guest services technology, and information security. The Senior IT Technician will support the hotel’s business solutions by installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all hardware and software systems to efficient performance, as well as troubleshooting problem areas in a timely and accurate fashion and will have day to day escalation duties of internal resources and supervisory duties of external contracted service providers.
All duties are performed in accordance with department and Sunseeker Resorts policies, practices, and procedures.
Job Duties
  • Serve as an escalation point for IT team resources to ensure effective operation and maintenance of all technology systems.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning, direction, and goal setting for the department in collaboration with senior management.
  • Contribute to the planning and maintenance of the organization's data technology operations, including computer hardware, software, and telecommunications.
  • Participate in the evaluation, development, and recommendation of solutions specific to the entire organization as well as specific solutions for individual departments.
  • Contribute to departmental policies, practices, and procedures in conjunction with parent company IT.
  • Direct, set up, maintain, and monitor property servers, including back-ups, property LAN performance, telecom systems, and workstations.
  • Develop and implement technology strategies that align with business goals and enhance the guest experience.
  • Manage the installation, maintenance, and upgrades of hardware and software systems, i.e..POS, PMS, networks. Keep all system documentation up to date.
  • Monitor internal controls to make sure that Sunseeker resorts and it’s wholly owned & managed entities meet SOX, PCI, and PABP security requirements.
  • Provide technical support to employees and guests as needed.
  • Partner with other departments as well as 3rd party vendors to integrate technology solutions and ensure seamless operations.
  • Evaluate property needs and technology solutions to improve profit and/or efficiency while leading initiatives within parameters.
  • Manage vendor relationships to ensure cost-effective solutions.
  • Lead IT-related projects from planning to execution and monitor progress to ensure timely completion.
  • Exercise discretion and independent judgment when evaluating new programs, new services and new ideas.
  • Stay abreast of property goals in order to create, support and present departmental goals to executive leadership
  • Continue to learn and be on the forefront of new technology for the hotel industry.
  • Create ways to further enrich the guest experience by continuously reviewing, implementing and refining procedures to ensure every opportunity to offer extraordinary guest experiences while maintaining a culture of smiles, retention of luxury standards.
  • Proactively seek guest feedback and liaise with other departments when opportunities present themselves ensuring a seamless and elevated guest experience.
  • Manage guest requests and own all complaints; resolve issues immediately and follow up to ensure the guest’s satisfaction.
  • Develop collaborative relationships and synergy with all support departments such as Convention Sales & Services, Facilities, Security, Front Services, Front Office, F&B, Golf Course and Executive Offices
  • Foster a management team that possesses and delivers on key strategies of guest service, employee relations, team cooperation, financial responsibility and asset management.
  • Ensure all accounting, payroll and employee relations matters are handled in compliance with company policy
Minimum RequirementsCombination of Education and Experience will be considered. Sunseeker Resorts performs criminal background checks on all candidates.   • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related field preferred.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in IT in the hospitality industry
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an IT lead role
  • Previous experience with the following Hospitality related applications and systems: PMS, POS, Keycard, PBX, Voicemail
  • Industry Certifications are a plus.

  • Ability to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
