The Registered Nurse perform acts which require substantial specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skill based upon principles of psychological, biological, physical, and social sciences. The Registered Nurse is responsible and account preparation and experience in nursing.
Ensures quality and safe delivery of home health care services:
- Completes nursing assessment forms in a timely manner per agency policy and procedure
- Identified physical, emotional, and developmental client needs.
- Develop implements, and evaluated clients plans of care per agency policy and procedure.
- Develops individual nursing care plan which reflect current client needs prior to client case conferences.
- Client and Client's families are involved in developing clients plan of care whenever possible.
- Provides health teaching to client and client's family, explaining the procedure to be done.
- Client clinical record documentation reflects delivery of quality and safe home health care services.
- Assesses client's condition every home visit
- Communicated client assessments to appropriate individuals as well as unusual reactions and changes in condition.
- Implements nursing interventions to meet client needs and changed conditions.
- Documents client clinical record per home health agency policy and procedure
- Accurately transcribes, implements, and evaluated physician's orders for clients in a timely manner.
- Refers clients to other health care providers per home health care agency policy and procedure
- Documents referral information accurately, completely and in a timely manner.
- Implements infection control and safety measures per home health care agency policy and procedure.
- Implements clinical care per home health care agency policies and procedures.
- Fulfills additional responsibilities as assigned when necessary and qualified. The Registered Nurse, with education and/or documented skills, may perform certain treatments/procedures, provided policies and the state/provincial regulatory acts. They may perform, but are not limited to the following:
- Initiation and/or administration of IV Therapy
- Insert and irrigate Levine tubes
- Suction endotracheally (with or without benefit of an endotracheal tubes)
- Draw blood for laboratory testing
- Perform cardiopulmonary resuscitation
- Assumes assigned responsibility for home health care agency operations in the absence of the Administrator and Director of Nursing of the Home Health Care Agency. Complies with federal, state, and local rules and regulations for home health care agency
- Utilizes good grooming habits and complies with Northshore Home Health Care, Inc.
- Complies with federal, state, and local regulatory Monitors job performance of home health care licensed practical nurses and Home Health. Aides for compliance with appropriate policies and procedure regarding client rights.
- Visual/hearing ability sufficient to comprehend written/verbal
- Ability to perform tasks involving physical activity, which may include heavy lifting, extensive bending and standing.
