SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Asset Management team manages the company’s portfolio investment to meet the specific company goals and increase the value of the asset and of the portfolio. As the Senior Analyst – Asset Management, you will work in tandem with the company departments, portfolio hotel teams, and third-party companies to drive the timely completion of standardized reports, ad hoc analyses, and related deliverables for our hotel portfolio. This position will facilitate the Asset Management reporting process of financial results and forecasts, hotel comp set benchmarking information, transient and group demand analysis, ROI/underwriting models, and quarterly board meeting and earnings call preparation. In addition, you will be responsible for internal and third-party relationship management and completion of ad-hoc projects, including customer sentiment analysis, contract review, labor and efficiency studies, and more.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Review and analyze financial profit and loss budgets, forecasts, month-end statements, and critiques.
• Prepare analyses derived from performance benchmarking of best-in-class hotels.
• Compile and roll up group booking (pace, production, lead volume, etc.) reports.
• Benchmark financial, sales, STR, and guest sentiment performance against competitor hotels.
• Track and facilitate the reporting system and process by project managing deliverable deadlines and meetings as the team lead.
• Work with the Asset Management BI team to produce and report on month-end results.
• Contribute during key company meetings and track takeaways to completion.
• Query Excel databases and extract data to derive analyses for financial purposes.
• Produce ad-hoc reporting and ROI underwritings to evaluate the value of hotel assets.
• Develop financial models to evaluate investment returns on proposed capital projects.
• Seek out partnerships and value-enhancing initiatives to increase portfolio EBITDA.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders, including Sunstone and hotel-based senior leadership.
• Participate in select hotel site visits and market tours to learn firsthand about our hotels, competition, and demand generators.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• Bachelor’s degree is required. Hotel, real estate, and/or finance courses are preferred.
• Three years of hotel experience is required.
• Strong computer software skills:
• Excel competency is required. Must have proficient abilities.
• PowerPoint competency is required. Must have proficient abilities.
• Financial modeling experience is preferred.
• Excel database experience is useful.
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication (oral and written), time management, and project management skills.
• High level of integrity, work ethic, corporate professionalism, self-motivation, and attention to detail.
• Ability to adapt to a changing environment, handle multiple priorities, and be resourceful with tools and personal research.
