Position Overview:

SunVest’s Project Finance team is responsible for optimally and successfully financing the business. As the Project Underwriterbased in our Chicago HQ, you will work closely with other team members to provide financial analysis and underwriting to prepare and deliver commercial responses to support the business. Your expertise in finance and energy will be pivotal to SunVest’s ongoing success, contributing to our sustainable growth strategy and the development of strategic plans for managing and improving renewable energy generation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with internal and external sources to provide a comprehensive and ongoing understanding of Distributed Generation (“DG”) market opportunities, including responding to RFP’s, new Community Solar Garden (“CSG”) programs, standalone Battery Energy Storage Systems (“BESS”) and other opportunities.
• Create a due diligence market landscape with sources for pipeline opportunities in each market
• Deliver a steady stream of proposal opportunities for SunVest.
• Responsible for overseeing the preparation and submission of RFP’s and other program responses, from underwriting through to delivery into the applicable program with a drive to achieve successful outcomes.
• Assess and monitor markets for project opportunities.
• Develop and track leads to support and manage a predictable forecast and sales cycle.

Required Skills:

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field.
• Minimum of two years of experience in finance, preferably in the renewable energy sector, is preferred but not required.
• Ability to assess markets for commercial attractiveness based on understanding of financial risk and return profiles.
• Proven ability to manage and develop a tracking tool for RFP’s.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with various teams and stakeholders, demonstrating strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• A deep passion for the renewable energy sector and a principled approach to fostering sustainable solutions.
