The Department of Clinical Laboratories, Blood Bank at SUNY Downstate Health Sciences University is seeking a full time Lead Clinical Laboratory Tech / TH Clinical Laboratory Technologist II. The successful candidate will:

* Perform all aspects of blood bank testing, including but not limited to ABO/Rh Typing, Crossmatching, antibody detection, and identification with appropriate follow-ups.

* Maintain quality control of equipment and reagents.

* Manage meticulous record-keeping and utilizes follow-up skills.

* Perform additional duties and responsibilities as required.

Required Qualifications:

* New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist Licensure

* 2 years of supervisory/administrative capacity experience

Preferred Qualifications:

* Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent in Medical Technology, Chemical or Biological Science

* 5 years of supervisory experience

* ASCP certification

* Prior blood bank work experience

Variable Days; Variable Hours

Salary Grade/Rank:

SL-3

Salary Range:

Commensurate with experience and qualifications
