SUNY Orange's Continuing and Professional Education unit (CAPE) is seeking a part-time High School Equivalency (HSE) Instructor for the Youth Empowerment Program for youths ages 16-24. The HSE Instructor facilitates the course Monday through Thursday (9-12) from September 23, 2024, through June 30, 2025 on the Newburgh Campus. The HSE Instructor will need to be available for monthly staff meeting on Fridays.
This position is expected to teach English Language Arts, Math, Science and/or Social Studies utilizing the New York State Education Department and GED Testing Service learning standards.
Required: Bachelor's Degree and at least three years of experience teaching secondary or post-secondary subjects to at-risk youth and adults.
Preferred: Special Education degree and certification with prior secondary or GED teaching experience and excellent teaching skills.

Salary: $31-$35per hour part time per hour, commensurate with experience.
