About the role:

This is an exciting opportunity to be involved in the successful commissioning of dip line glove production operation, in our brand-new facility in North Carolina. Reporting to the President, the Plant Manager is responsible for overseeing the production facility and offices, ensuring that the plant is producing quality products on time and efficiently. This individual must be able to drive business processes successfully, is responsible for efficient utilization of plant capacity, timely delivery of goods and maintaining quality standards for products manufactured.

Location:

Based in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, reporting into our Canadian Headquarters. The successful candidate must be willing and able to travel internationally. Training for this role requires an extended period of training in our other location(s) outside of the USA.

Responsibilities:

  • Daily operations ensuring productivity meets KPIs, driving in real time to meet quality, safety and team goals.
  • Drive yield, projects, objectives to deliver business results.
  • Overcome obstacles and bottle necks to maintain production flow.
  • Participate in root cause analysis and problem-solving activities to address manufacturing challenges and improve production output and product quality.
  • Organize the manufacturing plant to achieve optimized output from ordering raw material to shipping finished products.
  • Commit to continuous improvement methodologies such as Lean, Six Sigma, or Kaizen.
  • Analyze data sets using statistical methods to identify trends, patterns and areas for improvement.
  • Ensure the plant is financially responsible, monitor budgets, expenses, drive continuous improvement.
  • Provide feedback to leadership team and operations teams to support continuous improvement and efficient manufacturing.
  • Performance manage and develop team members informally through daily training, coaching, mentoring, formally coach through written performance reviews.
  • Promote engagement by creating a positive family culture, developing and committing to annual objectives.
  • Ensure equipment, materials, supplies, tools are available and maintained for the team.
  • Actively monitor production and processes to ensure quality standards are maintained and on time, with minimal waste and rework.
  • Actively monitor self and team member compliance with all safety procedures and protocols, providing immediate corrective intervention if standards are not met.
  • This role requires regular travel to our other locations; 10 – 25% travel.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum ten (10) years experience in the manufacturing sector; preference to glove manufacturing or in a related industry, such as rubber or plastics manufacturing
  • Proven track record of five (5) years of management experience overseeing manufacturing operations including logistics and inventory control.
  • Diploma / Degree in Logistics, Business or Mechanical / Industrial / Chemical Engineering
  • Experience with 5S implementation, lean manufacturing, Kaizen, and or value stream mapping preferred.
  • PC proficiency with MS Office (Excel, Outlook, etc.) and with reporting tools, such as Minitab.
  • Experience with ERP systems (example, Oracle NetSuite, SAP, etc.).
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams.
  • The ability to communicate in a second language or more is considered an asset.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in following and ensuring compliance with OSHA regulations and labor laws.
  • Valid passport and driver’s license with satisfactory driving record is required; must be willing and able to travel internationally.
