Overview:

The Supervisor directs the activities of the welding, assembly and tool room departments in an efficient manner for the desired quality and quantity of work. Reports to the Production Manager. Positions supervised include Team Lead and Shop Personnel.

Position Objectives:

• Supervises the activities of the assigned departmental foreman.
• Directs foreman with respect to production volume, cost quality and meeting production schedules and delivery dates.
• Stimulates maximum efficiency and productivity of foremen and production workers.
• Confers with the Production Manager and Production Planner to establish working schedules for all departments connected with production.
• Maintains adherence to company policies, safety standards and good housekeeping practices.
• Recommends the hiring and releasing of production and tool room personnel as required to maintain production schedule.
• Prepares the night shift schedules for night shift supervisors. (As needed)
• Assures that machinery, equipment and facilities are properly maintained for efficient production.
• Schedules overtime as required.
• Arranges to have appropriate production records prepared and maintained.
• Maintains good employee relations, takes proper and judicious disciplinary measures when required, assists foremen in handling first-step grievances and conducts second-step meetings.
• Keeps records of departmental activities, as required.
• Assures efficient and economical utilization of materials, improvement of methods and elimination of wasteful practices within the department.
• In concert with individual foremen, establishes accountabilities and goals used for performance evaluation.
• Performs other duties as required or directed.
