Seeking a Machinist Fabricator for a direct hire opportunity with our client in Gainesville, FL.

Responsibilities:
- Operates and maintains manual lathe and milling machines
- Reviews drawings, instructions, blueprints, or samples to ensure accurate production
- Takes precise measurements for cutting or shaping
- Selects appropriate machine and settings for a given task
- Coordinate with Welding Foreman to locate and request purchase of necessary supplies
- Analyzing specification charts, samples, and drawings to gain a thorough understanding of requirements
- Developing a plan of action to manufacture parts according to specifications
- Measuring and marking raw materials needed to manufacture parts
- Setting up equipment required to complete each step of the manufacturing plan
- Operating equipment to carry out each step correctly
- Monitoring the production process and intervening when problems arise
- Inspecting finished parts for flaws and defects
- Maintaining equipment located throughout the machine shop
- Consult and coordinate with Welding and Fabrication Supervisor for the modification of existing or development of new equipment
- Perform other duties as assigned including but not limited to mechanics and machining and be subject to temporary assignment with other supervisors or for field work
- HS Diploma or equivalent
- 1-2 years experience
- Strong mathematical skills
- Ability to cut threads on a lathe
- Use a Dividing head for Gear cutting and other applications
- Valid Florida Driver's License
- Ability to drive a forklift or learn
