POSITION PURPOSE The PCA/IA is assigned specifically to a student or group of Students who regularly need one on one assistance to maintain appropriate and equitable participation in the school setting. The PCA directly supports the students at the direction of the teacher

Job expectations:

PCA/IA works one to one with the student he/she is assigned to.

PCA/IA may assist the student with:

academic work

focus

behavior

You must be on time to the student’s classes

Interact with the students during class (even if they do not respond to you, it shows the teachers you are trying) to make sure they understand what is going on.

Help them answer teacher’s questions with prompts, do not give them the answers.

If you need help with what to work on and what classes to attend your students case manager will be your best bet to reach out to.

Guide independent study, enrichment work, and remedial work set up and assigned by the teacher.

You will only be communicating with the student in the classroom via chat, no microphone, no camera (it interrupts the teachers and they do not like it)

Maintain the same high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students as is expected of fully licensed teachers.

Adapt to the student’s mode of communication as necessary for instructional purposes.

Pay

The rate for the position is $18.00 an hour direct and 1 hour of indirect time per month at $6.00

Late Cancelations- The school will not reimburse for the cost of a missed session when the family provides notice within 2 hours of the session.

If the student is a no show, please bill for the missed time.

You would enter all your information into a system used by the school called EasyTrac, this is what we go off of for payments.

Timesheets are then processed and submitted to the school for payment.

Checks are mailed out 20 business days after the 6th of every month (Please make note you are paid once a month, if this is a hardship then the position may not be for you.)
