Job Summary
The Learning and Development Specialist leads the execution of all functional, technical and management training programs. This position partners with the Director of Learning and Development to design and develop training programs to meet business objectives and positively impact the team member learning experience. They are responsible for cultivating strong relationships with the Parkhurst team to ensure program quality and stakeholder satisfaction for all training programs.
Summary of essential job functions
Execute Learning Roadmap
Partner with the Director of Learning to maximize the impact that training can have in order to achieve business objectives.
Consult and strategize with the Director of Learning to analyze and define the right training requirements, identify capability gaps, and structure the appropriate training requirements to build required organizational capability.
Actively develop business unit knowledge to build credibility and trust with business leaders, challenge assumptions and influence how the business unit invests in training.
Work with business leaders in monitoring the amount of training being prescribed to team members, ensuring the right amount of time is being invested.
Partner with the Director of Learning to understand business priorities and translate into an integrated talent and learning strategy and programs that drive value for the business.
Lead the execution and debriefing of all Parkhurst Division learning events, processes, and programs.
Assist as needed with execution of Restaurant focused learning events.
Promote Be Your Best Self Learning Culture and Team Member Engagement
Sustain the appropriate communication with businesses, functions, and audiences regarding the availability of new and existing training opportunities.
Collect feedback on all training content to ensure continuous improvements and learner engagement.
Facilitate and produce for engaging instructor led classes.
Support Smile U end users.
Minimum Requirements
A bachelors degree in the areas of instructional design, education, e-learning, adult learning, educational technology, or another related field.
At least 3 years of training program management or related work experience, preferably in learning.
Understanding of design and creation of training manuals with experience with writing instructions.
Working knowledge of e-learning authoring and development tools.
Facilitation experience a must.
Must have a substantive command of technology, MS Office Suite with a focus on PowerPoint.
Experience in hospitality organizations preferred
Articulate 360 and/or Vyond experience a preferred,
Learning design experience preferred
