JOB OVERVIEW:

The Field Service Supervisor is responsible for managing the day-to-day service operations of the Services Group. The Field Service Supervisor is also a resource to provide direct customer field service support, if other resources are not available. Because of our focus on families and the proximity of our customers, a minimal amount of local travel is required. This position involves field and/or remote work, up to 25% of the time.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead Manage and Hold Accountable the Service Team.

Prioritizes and allocates service Team resources to meet customer service needs. Service Contracts, Service Calls, and Project support.

Coach and mentor Team to have a well-managed and trained staff.

• Individual coaching of team members
• Developing career paths with team members

Calibration activities

• Audit employees to insure they are following documented procedures.
• Maintain scheduling of calibration activities.

Configuration activities

• Audit employees to insure they are following documented procedures.
• Knowledge of I-Tools
• Procedures for executing and archiving configurations
• Monitor and assure prompt response to configurations required.
• Capable of performing field service, field calibration, systems/drives repairs and other necessary services to support the life cycle of the drives, drives systems and controls systems.

Field installations

• Provide staff capable of performing field installations of hardware sold by Sure Controls.
• Provide staff capable of assisting engineers with project start-ups.

Training

• Develop and execute customer training sessions for above activities.

Communicates openly with customers in an effective, positive manner.

Contribute to a positive P&L statement.

Shared on-call duty for weekends (3-4x per year)

Other duties as assigned.

Functional Technical Skills

• Thermocouples, RTD’s, and IR sensors
• Heaters
• Pressure transducers / load cells
• Advanced Control systems
• Eurotherm® iTools
• Chessell / DAQ products.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: High School Diploma

Experience and/or Training: 3 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with highly technical products, field service/engineering experience. Knowledge of mechanical components of control systems. Strong Communication and leadership skills (listening, questioning, speaking), Time Management skills. The Field Service Supervisor should have a familiarity with some of the following technologies and have, or develop, a proficiency in: Drives and Controls Systems, especially Parker Hannifin drives, Communication Protocols {i.e., DeviceNet and Modbus}. Develop an expertise in one of the following areas: PLC Control (Allen-Bradley) , AC/DC Drive Control, SCADA systems. Web handling applications such as paper converting, plastic extrusion or rewinding.

Licenses/Certificates: A valid driver’s license, insurance and a reliable automobile are requirements of this role.

Technology/Equipment:Computing/Software Skills including Microsoft Office Suite and AutoCAD.

Education Associates orBA/BS Degree

Experience and/or Training: 5 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with highly technical products, field service/engineering experience and leading remote type teams. Knowledge of mechanical components of control systems. Strong Communication skills (listening, questioning, speaking), Time Management skills. PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS:

• May be required to work hours outside of the typical 7:30a.m. - 4:30 p.m. day., and on-call on some weekends (3 – 4 per year).
