Our client is seeking a Packaging Design Engineer for their Anderson, SC location to help create innovative steel shipping rack solutions for our broad customer base. In this role, you will be responsible for working with customer part models in Solid Works to create concepts, designs, and final build drawings on a project-by-project basis. You may work directly with our customers. You may be also be tasked to reverse engineer a solution if provided with an existing container or shipping rack. You will also work with Operations to review and approve prototypes and first articles in Manufacturing.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Design reusable and returnable packaging solutions used by manufacturing OEMs, and suppliers.
• Create concepts, detailed designs, and drawings for different packaging products in collaboration with the customer.
• Work directly with our sales team to develop best in class solutions for the customer.
• Participate in prototype reviews with the customer and manufacturing.
· Assist the Purchasing team when needed to secure/validate engineering releases.
Qualifications - Required Experience/Skills
• 1-3 years experience in a manufacturing environment
• 1 years experience in working with steel structures preferred
• Background in designing automotive packaging is a plus
• Bachelor's Degree required (industrial engineering, packaging engineering, or mechanical engineering preferred)
• 1 years of experience in CAD with Solid Works or other CAD software
• Strong understanding of CAD standards, drawings, protocols, and best practices.
• Ability to form relationships across the organization-particularly with Operations, Manufacturing, Purchasing
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $60,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
