Facility Resident Assistant
Starting Pay $14-$21.48 per hour depending on experience opportunity for hourly bonuses Surgeon & Associates, Inc. offers psychoeducational and relational support, behavioral modeling of interventions, and supervision to consumers residing in a Psychiatric Residential Treatment Facility.
Successful candidates should be able to:
- Provide direct care services (basic needs) to adolescents.
- Instructs and supervises consumers in various settings, including the community to develop self-control and social, educational, communicational, and vocational skills.
- Provide information to and consult with guardians and consumers on person-centered plans and other issues; guide and instruct consumers toward the accomplishment of goals within the person-centered plan.
- Assess and monitor a consumer’s progress and psychiatric/emotional stability. Maintains composure in intense situations that may arise when grossly inappropriate behaviors occur and effectively calm the consumer through verbal non-aggressive techniques or protective CPI intervention.
- Assist consumers with necessary treatment and service needs.
- Assist in the daily operations of the home; meal planning, activities, housekeeping, etc. Providing mental health and substance abuse education and support to consumers and families.
- Provide intensified structure and supervision to consumers at all times.
- Provide healthy adult role models.
Candidates will also document these activities according to NC documentation rules.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent plus five years of paid, voluntary, or behavioral health experience OR Associate degree required.
- Flexibility to work any shift
- Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to work in at least two of the following counties: Anson, Hoke, or Moore.
- Must be able to work up to 20 overtime hours weekly
- Oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge and skills in educating clients in daily living skills
- Observation and decision-making skills
- Experience in implementing group activities helpful
- Willingness to use personal transportation in work capacity
- Knowledge of substance abuse/addiction issues or related work experience would be beneficial
- 12 hours shifts
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
- Experience working directly with mental illness and children (5 years)
- Mental Health Counseling Certification
Other Training and Certifications Required: Bachelor's Degree, Mental Health and or Substance Abuse Certification, CPR First Aid Certification, Bloodborne Pathogens, CPI Crisis Prevention Intervention, Medication Administration and Seizure Management, Clients Rights,
Confidentiality, HIPAA, DSM 5 Diagnosis training and Sex Offender behavior
Pre-employment screening includes: Criminal background check, healthcare registry check, DMV check. 40 hours state mandated pre placement training required.
Starting Pay Rate will be $14-$21.48 per hour based upon experience. Bonuses are available. Residential Mentor
Candidates that do not meet the requirements for the Facility Resident Advisor position will be considered for the Residential Mentor position. Starting Pay Rate $11.00-$13.75 (Benefits same as above)
