Position: Business Development Associate
Supervision Received: Director of Development
Status: Part Time, Hourly
Summary: Responsible for researching and identifying new business opportunities for the organization in support of its mission and goals. Cultivates relationships with potential stakeholders to further organization's growth and impact.
Responsibilities:
- Cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding business relationships as outlined in the SBAP business brochure, including all levels of business sponsorship
- Promoting and overseeing the business HERO program, including identifying business donors, making outreach and initial contact, providing needed materials, following up and thanking business participants
- Coordinating business socials in and outside of SBAP to promote services/relationships
- Working in conjunction with Development Director in planning and executing special events
- Working in conjunction with the Development Director to develop initiatives, budgets and projections relating to business income/expense
- Working in conjunction with the Development Team to forward department & agency goals
- Providing the Communications Associate with information and graphics relating to business giving
- Working with the Communications Associate to help coordinate marketing and media coverage (radio, press, photo, digital) highlighting all business and event related activities
- Attending local networking meetings within the community
- Attending all development team and committee meetings
Qualifications:
Education
Such as may have been gained through college courses and relevant training, employment, or volunteer experience.
Other
- Minimum of two years fundraising experience
- Capital campaign experience highly desirable
- Excellent interpersonal and writing skills
- Computer proficiency
- General familiarity with non-profit budgets
- Understanding of personal and systemic issues affecting victims of domestic and sexual violence
- Ability to work flexible hours
- Ability to serve as an ambassador for Susan B. Anthony Project
- Participation in events, programs and other promotion of awareness and advocacy
- Ability to lift and move 25 pounds
- Patience and a sense of humor
