About Enterprise Container Management (ECM)
SUSE’s Enterprise Container Management portfolio offers a full spectrum container management solution covering Rancher, Harvester, Longhorn & container security with Neuvector.
About the Role
The Director of Operations for SUSE’s Enterprise Container Management business unit reports into the VP of Product and Operations and will assist the business unit with program management for strategic initiatives, partner with Finance to manage and draft budgets, run stakeholder communications like Quarterly Business Reviews, Customer Advisor Reviews and internal stakeholder interlocks and provide general business intelligence required to inform the leadership teams in their business decisions.
Key responsibilities
Strategic Programs: Lead strategic initiatives that include a cross functional set of internal and external stakeholders
Stakeholder Management: Serving as a liaison between the ECM business unit leadership team, and other senior executives, internal teams, and external partners. Managing communication and relationships with key stakeholders to ensure product success.
Financial Management: Actively observe business unit financial performance and provide data points needed in financial planning
Business Intelligence: Measure and refine KPIs that help determine successful execution of the business goals
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Facilitating effective communication and collaboration between product management, engineering, marketing, sales, customer support, and other departments
Process Optimization: Streamlining and improving product management processes to enhance efficiency, reduce time-to-market, and increase quality.
Continuous Improvement and Innovation: Promoting a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product management teams, by staying updated on industry best practices.
Preferred Experience and Skills
Project and Program Management Background: Experience in project and program management with a focus on managing timelines and deliverables is required.
Communication and Storytelling: Ability to convey complex concepts in simple but resonating ways, in form of documents and presentations
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Previous roles that involved extensive cross-functional collaboration, especially with engineering, product, marketing, and sales teams.
Stakeholder Management: Experience in managing relationships with stakeholders, both internal (executives, team members) and external (partners, clients).
Change Management: Background in managing transitions, organizational changes, or shifts in strategy, with a focus on minimizing disruptions and ensuring a smooth transition.
Innovation and Ideation: Exposure to fostering a culture of innovation, encouraging creative thinking, and driving new product ideas.
Personal Attributes
Strong Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate vision, goals, and strategies clearly to the team and stakeholders.
Bias for action and ability to work across multiple concurrent initiatives
Collaborative mindset: You demonstrate the ability to build strong relationships cross-functionally, since the role involves working and collaborating with multiple stakeholders, disciplines, and business units across the company.
Self-motivated, able to handle ambiguity and work independently in a remote setup.
