OVERVIEW OF THE POSITION

Reporting to the Director of NT Operations, the Quality Control & Food Safety Technician is responsible for ensuring that each location operates efficiently by meeting standards of food safety, food quality, sanitation and hospitality while achieving sales targets. The duties and responsibilities range from human resources management, operations (inclusive of food safety), product quality, sales, compliance, and guest satisfaction.

This is a unique opportunity for a hands-on, roll up one’s sleeve, multi-unit leader who wants to leverage their food and beverage experience and develop and lead high-performance operations.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Training, coaching and counseling of Team Leaders.

· Visiting each Location at least once a week to ensure operational efficiency, providing appreciative and constructive feedback to Team Leaders, while writing and sending a Visit Overview to Senior Leadership.

· Ensuring that all locations are properly staffed to meet the needs of the business.

· Ensuring that all Teams are meeting scheduling and coverage requirements at each Location.

· Ensuring implementation of Food Safety and Sanitation Standards in each Location.

· Ensuring execution of recipes, food quality and hospitality standards.

· Ensuring that all required Sushi, Hot Foods, sides and salads are being prepared and offered in each Location consistently.

· Ensuring that marketing efforts are consistent across each Location.

· Ensuring that the stores under their supervision adhere to company and industry regulations.

· Addressing and correcting operational problems that arise.

· Fostering excellent relationships with Leadership and Team Members from the different divisions such as the Commissary, Catering and Sushi Maki Restaurants.

· Fostering excellent relationships with the Leadership Teams at Universities, Whole Foods, Airport and Hospital Locations.

· Making recommendations to senior Leadership.

· Note: Working remotely is not an option for this position

REQUIREMENTS:

§ Quality Assurance and/or Food Safety Training

§ Analytical mindset and problem-solving skills.

§ Ability and willingness to learn new concepts and systems.

§ Willingness and ability to be “hands on” in Operations when the needs arise – including new store openings, marketing demonstrations and event catering

§ Work hours may include nights and weekends

CHARACTER AND PERSONAL ATTRIBUTES:

· Other Key Relationships: CEO, Heads of Finance, Marketing, IT, Catering and Commissary

EXPERIENCE PROFILE:

· Degree and/or Certification in Food Safety Business Management or related field preferred.

· 2 years in Restaurant Management, or Food Related Establishment such as Supermarket, Food Production & Distribution Center, etc.

· Knowledge of Health and Sanitation Practices.

· Food Safety Audit Background

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

· Some lifting and the movement of moderate loads require a 50-pound lifting requirement.

· Spends approximately 60% of his/her time standing and walking swiftly, therefore, he/she must have the ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and move freely using all limbs and seeing at close/long distances.

· Frequent visit Sushi Maki locations (tri county area), vendors, etc.; therefore, he/she must be able to travel autonomously, possibly to other geographical locations, in inclement weather, with little to no prior notification given.

· Must be able work under a high degree of stress on a physical, mental and emotional level; this includes performing work in a fast-paced manner and making timely decisions.
