Sustainable Capital Advisors (SCA) is a financial consulting firm that assists public and private sector clients in developing business and financial solutions for the sustainable infrastructure sector. As an active market participant, we survey the entire landscape and deliver solutions that best meet our clients’ needs.

We are seeking a talented and highly motivated individual to join our team as a Project Manager. The Project Manager will oversee client engagements and will be responsible for the successful management of our clients’ project plans relating to their implementation, contact terms, deliverables, and timelines. This involves developing client plans to properly outline tasks, resources, and timelines, coordinating team resources to meet project deadlines, and reporting project statuses and milestones to the leadership team. This position requires strong demonstrated project management experience in the consulting and advisory sector and/or handling complex technical projects. 

WHAT WILL THIS JOB ENTAIL?

Project Management

  • Responsible for communicating the project’s progress through meeting documentation, status updates, leadership meetings, project updates, and project schedules.
  • Acts as a liaison between the client and the responsible SCA team members, working to ensure the successful delivery of projects that align with the client's SCA agreement.
  • Responsible for oversight of the project's budget, timeline, and staffing requirements, setting clear expectations for the team and the client.
  • Builds and maintains good relationships with clients including regular communication about project progress, adjusting plans based on client feedback, and ensuring client satisfaction throughout the project.
  • Ensures on-time and on-budget delivery of projects while providing quality assurance to ensure work is delivered to the highest possible standard.
  • Upon project completion, analyzes the project's success in meeting the agreed objectives. They will use this analysis to make recommendations for future projects and continuous process improvement.
  • Responsible for planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and facilitating the resolution of problems.

Team Management

  • Responsible for planning, leading, organizing, and motivating project team members to achieve a high level of performance and quality in delivering projects.
  • Summarizes and reports project status to Chief Executive Officer.
  • Determines deliverables for invoicing and work with accounting department to ensure timely payments from clients.
  • Reviews team members’ hours and progress on projects to ensure that the team is staying on track and is profitable on client engagements.

QUALIFICATIONS

The SCA Team is seeking an entrepreneurial, ambitious, and resourceful individual who is comfortable in a lean and agile environment and has previous job experience in a similar dynamic setting. The ideal candidate must have a general knowledge and interest in the areas of finance, clean energy, or climate justice. In addition, a candidate should have the following qualifications and attributes:

  • A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or Finance.
  • An advanced degree in Business Administration. MBA preferred but not required.
  • At least five years of Project Management experience with complex technical and administrative deliverables is required.
  • Experience managing both small and large-scale projects which involve leading and directing teams of two to five team members.
  • Mastery of Word, Excel, and advanced PowerPoint presentation skills.
  • Exceptional writing skills and ability to convey complex information and research in a concise manner.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple engagements simultaneously with competing priorities in a rapidly growing, fast-paced, interactive, results-based environment.
  • Ability to create an analysis, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
  • Ability to work in a remote team environment.
  • Positive attitude, intellectual curiosity, initiative, and an ability to face and innovatively manage issues in a mature and professional manner.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

This is a full-time remote position. All team members are required to keep DC office hours. The salary range is $85,000 - $110,000, commensurate with experience. Benefits include health insurance reimbursement, vacation stipend, potential for year-end bonus, 4 weeks of annual PTO, and year-round Summer Fridays.
