Sutton Memorial High School is Hiring a Sutton High School Math Teacher School Year 2024-2025 Near Sutton, MA

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:1.PROGRAMa.Curriculum: Know and be guided by the curriculum guides of the District and the school.b.Lesson Plans: Maintain a plan book of daily and unit instruction based on District curriculum guides (including emergency plans in the event of illness.)c.Objectives: Establish and communicate to students well-defined objectives for each unit of work, including related projects and activities.d.Instruction: Be responsible for an instructional program and the utilization of teaching methods that consider the individual needs, interests, abilities, and maturity levels of the students, including tutorial services.2.STAFFa.Meetings, Training: Attend staff meetings and District in-service training programs.b.Committees: Serve on committees as requested.c.School Activities: Be responsible for discharging whatever instructional and non-instructional school-related activities may be assigned, e.g. playground, lunchroom, study hall, etc. d.Supervision, Evaluation: Supervise and provide work assignments to teacher aides and/or student teachers working under his/her direction, and evaluate their performance when requested to do so.e.Confer With Staff Members: Confer with other staff members regarding their own experience with a given student during the team planning time provided. Participate in grade-level teacher/advisor conferences as scheduled by the Superintendent or his/her designee.3.STUDENTSa.Evaluation: Evaluate individual student progress regularly and keep requisite records consistent with the area in which he/she is engaged.b.Reports: Provide written student progress reports regularly.c.Health and Welfare: Take all reasonable measures to assure student health and safety, being alert to unusual mental or physical conditions of students and referring these to the principal or his/her designee.d.Learning Disabilities: When learning disabilities are suspected request consultation with staff specialists, and provide each such student with a designated program of instruction when this is the recommended remedial measure.e.Conduct: Be responsible for the conduct of the students in his/her direct charge, and for assuming authority, as warranted, over other students in such areas as school corridors, cafeteria, assemblies, or during away-from-school events.f.Reinforcement: Provide instructional reinforcement for individual students as required.g.Conferences: When deemed necessary, hold conferences with individual students and parents.4.OPERATIONSa.Policies, and Regulations: Know and observe the policies and regulations of the District.b.Pupil Attendance, Tardiness: Keep records of pupil attendance and tardiness and advise administration of excessive absences or tardiness.c.Injury, Illness: Report any injury or illness to the student or self to the school nurse.d.Attendance: Report to work daily at times assigned by the administration and remain on duty through the time prescribed by the contract. e.Books, Supplies: Account for books and supplies and keep required records of their quantity and condition.f.Housekeeping: Observe proper housekeeping procedures and safety practices in keeping with building regulations.g.Physical Plant: Advise administration promptly whenever an unsafe building condition is observed in class or school.h.Completion of Daily Duties: As required, remain in school after dismissal of students for as long as necessary to complete daily duties, attend meetings, hold parent conferences, etc.i.Emergency Procedures: Read and become familiar with the school’s emergency response plan.5.Performs other duties as assigned by the Principal
