Description

The Inventory Specialist is responsible for managing inventory levels through regular cycle counts, investigating and resolving inventory discrepancies, and accurately picking orders. This role requires working in various environments, including freezer storage areas, and ensuring inventory accuracy and efficiency in warehouse operations. 

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Perform regular cycle counts of inventory in designated areas. 
  • Ensure accuracy of cycle counts by verifying physical counts against system records. 
  • Record and report discrepancies to management. 
  • Investigate inventory discrepancies to determine root causes. 
  • Document findings and corrective actions taken. 
  • Accurately pick and prepare orders for shipment. 
  • Ensure picked items match order specifications and quantities. 
  • Use EPR to track order status and inventory levels. 
  • Conduct inventory counts and manage stock levels in freezer storage areas. 
  • Ensure proper handling and storage of frozen products to maintain quality and safety standards. 
  • Monitor inventory levels and report low stock or overstock situations. 
  • Participate in regular audits and inventory reconciliation processes. 
  • Collaborate with warehouse staff to ensure efficient and accurate inventory handling. 
  • Assist with receiving and unloading shipments as needed. 

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional education or certifications in logistics, inventory management, or a related field is a plus. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in inventory management or warehouse operations. 
  • Experience working in cold storage or freezer environments is preferred. 
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in inventory management. 
  • Ability to use warehouse management systems and other inventory tracking software. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies. 
  • Physical ability to lift and move items up to 50 lbs and work in cold storage environments for extended periods.
