The Job:

The Material Handler uses various powered industrial vehicles (PIV’s), such as powered pallet jacks and forklifts, to deliver and stage materials for production. This position supports in quarterly physical inventory counts. This position also supports the overall operation as needed and performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

The ideal Candidate:

• Keeps materials available for final packaging (Vert Bag, Fuji, Bulk packaging, Special Pack, Hatecs, etc). Duties include working with supervisors and machine operators on upcoming scheduled production so that the proper material amounts can be calculated, located, verified, and staged in the specified/designated areas prior to changeovers; and removal of excess materials from packaging areas and return to WIP or inventory.

• Secondary to final packaging duties/support, helps maintain WIP and raw materials for other manufacturing in process operations.

• Oversees materials staging areas for inventory accuracy, organization and feedback as needed for manufacturing, scheduling and warehouse. Duties include working with raw material warehouse on availability of materials and keeping kanban areas stocked to support manufacturing.

• Works with supervisors and machine operators to reconcile usage of materials answering questions such as: What was issued to the job? What was produced to finished goods? What was scraped? Are all materials, within reason, accounted for?

• Calculates candy usage for work orders, and scrap and loss in order to maintain accurate inventories.

• Has strong basic math/counting skills

• Is able to accurately complete all necessary paperwork

• Works well in a team environment (communicates frequently with lines of support, co-workers and Supervisors and responds to requests in a timely manner)

• Keeps the work area clean, organized and in compliance with GMP and other workplace standards
