DescriptionAt Swickard Auto Group, we are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive work environment where our employees can thrive. We are looking for a talented and experienced Benefits Specialist to join our People & Culture team and help us manage and optimize our employee benefits programs.
Position SummaryThe Benefits Specialist will be responsible for overseeing and administering employee benefits programs, including but not limited to FMLA, OMLA, 401(k), Workmans’ Comp cases, and health insurance benefits. This role requires a strong understanding of benefits regulations and a proactive approach to benefits management. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, have excellent communication skills, and possess a passion for supporting each employee’s well-being.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and administer employee benefits programs, including FMLA, OMLA, 401(k), health insurance, Workmans’ Comp cases, and other related benefits.
  • Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations, including the Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) and the Oregon Family Leave Act (OMLA).
  • Oversee the 401(k) plan, including enrollment, contributions, and compliance testing.
  • Collaborate with our own insurance provider to manage health insurance benefits, including open enrollment, plan renewals, and employee inquiries.
  • Provide guidance and support to employees regarding their benefits options and eligibility.
  • Develop and implement benefits communication strategies to keep employees informed about their benefits and any changes.
  • Conduct regular audits of benefits programs to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Analyze benefits data and prepare reports to inform decision-making and improve program effectiveness.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in benefits administration, including FMLA, OMLA, Workmans’ Comp, and 401(k) plan management.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state benefit regulations, to include California, Alaska, Hawaii, Nevada, Texas, Washington, & Oregon.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in HRIS and benefits administration software, Paylocity experience preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certification (e.g., CEBS, PHR, SPHR).
  • Experience with health insurance benefits administration.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
