Swift School is Hiring a School Nurse (Part Time) Near Roswell, GA

Position Title: Nurse
Status: Part Time/10 Month

Swift School is an independent school of approximately 180 students serving grades K-8. Swift’s mission is to prepare students with dyslexia and related language-based learning differences to be successful in life. Our core values include community, excellence, individuality, nurture, and potential. Our teachers are passionate about teaching children with learning differences. We recognize that each child is unique, and our teaching approach, time frame, and expected outcomes reflect the student’s individuality. Given that students have a variety of needs, our teachers and administrators often interact with external support professionals to ensure the best overall academic plan for each student.

Qualifications:

  • Valid State of Georgia Practical Nurse license
  • Minimum of one (1) year practical nursing or closely related experience is required
  • Valid certificates in cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR) required. The candidate must exhibit a kind and caring manner, be able to communicate effectively with children and adults

Responsibilities Include:

  • Custody of an accountability for all records relating to the administration of medication to students according to school policies, accreditation standards and applicable laws
  • Logging in of and secure maintenance of student medications according to school policies, accreditation standards and applicable laws concerning the school’s custody of student medications
  • Acceptance of student medications according to school policies
  • Notification to parents when medications need to be refilled
  • Operation of and supervision of the school clinic according to school policies, accreditation standards and applicable statutes
  • Examine and evaluate students who are referred to the clinic and expedite decision making concerning student attendance at school
  • Manage possible or necessary communications between the school and the school’s publics concerning medical conditions of a student or groups of students
  • Provide information in specific instances concerning health conditions according to Center for Disease Control guidelines and recommendations
  • Practice first aid in the treatment of students who may be seriously injured
  • Seek administrative support concerning student conditions
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with all constituents especially with regard to parents of ill or injured students
  • Supervise ill or injured students
  • Support the mission of Swift School in all situations
  • Support the school and its leadership
