SwimRVA is looking for an energetic and enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Fitness Instructor ! The position is a dynamic group fitness instructor for land and water based classes. The Fitness Instructor will have expertise and certification specific to the class type they will offer. SwimRVA offers a wide array of classes and fitness offerings, and we would love for you to be part of serving the Richmond community.

The SwimRVA Fitness Instructor job duties:

• Prepare or choreograph their own group classes for water or land fitness
• Demonstrate or explain how to perform various exercises and routines to minimize injuries and improve fitness
• Provide options during workouts to help clients feel successful
• Ensure first time attendees feel welcome and are set-up for success
• Build relationships with members to help them feel welcome and included
• Maintain and compile class attendance information daily
• Maintain awareness of facility safety issues and report or remedy those issues immediately
• Serve as a front line of customer service in a state-of-the-art facility
• Ensure daily sanitation of equipment

Qualifications

• Candidates should possess strong verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal skills and able to provide exceptional customer service.
• Current certifications related to the area of fitness in which you specialize
• Current American Red Cross certification in First Aid/CPR/AED or able to gain certification within 30 days of hire

Salary/Benefits:

• Part-time non-exempt position
• Starting at $20.00/hour
